Colombia Decaf

This outstanding single origin coffee is sourced from the Huila region of Colombia, specifically featuring the Castillo and Caturra varietals. Grown at an elevation of 1,600 meters above sea level, this coffee benefits from a cool mountain climate that is ideal for nurturing exceptional coffee beans. What sets this offering apart is its decaffeination process, which utilizes the EA sugarcane method. This technique employs naturally derived ethyl acetate from fermented sugarcane to gently wash away caffeine, ensuring that the rich flavor compounds of the beans remain intact.

The decaffeination process begins with steaming the beans to open their pores, followed by soaking in a solution of water and ethyl acetate to extract the caffeine. After this gentle process, the beans are dried back to their original moisture content, preserving their quality. Once decaffeinated, we roast these Colombian beans to a medium roast level, bringing forth their depth of flavor and infusing them with rich roasty notes. The final product is a superb decaf coffee that offers all the delightful flavors coffee lovers crave, without any of the caffeine.
